I've been using Sketchup for 3D for years, and can continue doing so under Trimble's annual upgrade for $120 a year (or keep using the previous version.in perpetuity)

However, if Dassault thinks this pricing strategy is appropriate, their software needs be be many metric fuck-tons more stable than it has been. That being said, it is still much, much cheaper than AutoCAD. I cannot do that now I have posted on the nearly useless 3DS forums asking if I can still get 2018 SP3. I am still pretty disgusted, especially since I put off purchasing DraftSight 2018, and was planning on buying a perpetual license for 2019. (By the way this is exactly the reason I bought a perpetual license!) I have a perpetual license for 2017 and I fully expect Dassault will honor their contract. I am not certain how the subscription will work. If you have a paid version of DraftSight pre-2019 it will still be usable. All free versions of DraftSight will cease to run after, regardless.(They don't say anything about paid versions).
